The Kids Village - Kindergarten
Learning Harmony With Nautre

The project is located in Istanbul, Turkey. Istanbul has almost 15 millions of people and reaching to nature is getting harder for children everyday. The project site is abandoned green areas located in hearth of Istanbul. The neighbourhood built in 50s and called Etiler. Today educated people live in this area and they have difficulty sending their children to schools integrated with nature.

This kindergarten is designed to nurture children's connection with nature at an early age and to help them grow as part of it. At the heart of the design lies an environment where children can freely explore, grow their own food, and learn about the cycles of nature.
It is crafted with an approach that encourages children to discover, play, and learn in close contact with nature. Inspired by the Montessori philosophy, the design focuses on individual learning and independence, supported by a nature-centered pedagogical approach.

Each classroom opens directly into the garden, allowing children to maintain an uninterrupted connection with the outdoors. Large glass surfaces bring in natural light while keeping the surrounding green areas continuously visible. The central courtyard serves as a hub for social interaction and provides a safe play area. Built entirely with wooden materials, the structure offers a warm and natural atmosphere while embracing a sustainable architectural approach. Low-level elements designed for children's accessibility, along with features that accommodate individuals with disabilities, create an inclusive space for everyone. Flexible spatial design enables classrooms to be merged or separated with sliding doors, while modular furniture can be easily adapted for individual or group activities.
