Konaklar Food Garden
Edible Community Garden - Istanbul

The project has been designed and constructed with Beşiktaş Municipality in Konaklar neighbourhood. The food garden belongs to neighbours and it has collective food garden. There are 65 m2 food garden, composting area, green house and herb garden. Each seasons, people care and cultivate the soil for seasonal vegetables and herbs. The community has its own group and everyone does their daily tasks by being organized and changing. The soil of the food garden came from the composting of public market's food wastes. 25% of the food need come from Konaklar Food Garden. It opens to public for visitors every Saturday morning.
