Micro-Community with off-grid life.
City of Milan hosts many internationalities where many people come from different countries for study and work reasons. Working age population increase every year because of globalisation of cities. Many young professionals are in the rush with lack of payments and stresses of their environment. The idea propose to decrease the stress of young professionals and increase the life quality of individuals and neighbourhoods where located around the proposed idea community.
Today Milan has many wastelands because of industrialization. These urban voids are; abandoned factories, old train lines, dumps, slum areas and unused green spaces. The idea is to requalify these spaces and integrate the E-Community with the existing neighbourhoods, with this aim the community won’t be isolated but will be a part of the identity of the city environment. The apartment rents, bills, taxes, groceries are expensive and with this condition of living, young professionals move away from nature. The micro home presents an off grid living with circular economy. Solar cells provide energy for home and rain water collection support the drinkable water. Also bokashi compost and compost toilets’s waste goes to community garden and help to produce a rich mineral dropping fields.
