What can we learn Le Courbusier's three human establishments?
A proposal for the industrialisation inside the cities.

 The domination of mechanization gave rise to an unstoppable expansion of the cities which brought chaos with it along the last century. The positive aspect of industrialization lost its importance and became a threatening element in human life. It led to the conclusion that there is a need lo have a planning system to prevent negative impacts.

 

 The research focuses on the problems caused by industrialization through its historical development process in Turkey. Following, it analyses two design proposals which showed up to deal with the problems of industrialization. Finally, if presents suggestions for future proposals. Issues related to industrialization have been present in Turkey since the economic reform of the 1950s. Turkish government constitute a 5-year development plan in 1963. The main goal is to develop the country's industry simultaneously with economic and social demands. This led to the emergence of "Organized Industrial Zones". They hove been an influential force in the development and transformation of the city and regions, the determination of urban dynamics and their social and structural relations with cities. Nevertheless, nowadays they became problems rather than solutions. Turkish Government should reconsider the Organized Industrial Zones and provide more comprehensive solutions. In this context, historical references con be beneficial as this paper found suggestions to the related issues from Le Corbusier' s utopic theory, "The Linear Industrial City". Le Corbusier defined industrial developments as the parasites of the cities. In this context, his proposal for the industrial development with the concept of "Green Linear Industrial City" (La Cite lndustrielle Verte) which embodies the idea of "Green Factory" (Usine Verte) was revolutionary. The idea of creating new settlement units along the identified fronsportofion networks was referenced to former research called Three Human Establishments {Les Trois Etoblissements Humains) which made by ASCORAL group. It considers theoretically the human and physical geography and suggests a new settlement model which formed with three interconnected habitations that will respect the needs of the mechanized world.
