Vegan Café Interior Design - Istanbul

V-Sweet Vegan Café is an interior renovation project located in the city center of Beşiktaş, Istanbul, where a 50 m² abandoned café was transformed into a calm and inviting space. The design concept is based on minimalism and natural materials, aiming to create a visual and sensory relief within the chaotic urban context of Istanbul and to enhance the experience of enjoying vegan sweets. A Mediterranean, simple and plain design language was adopted throughout the space to soften the visual environment and reintroduce a sense of nature into an otherwise artificial setting. The main architectural element of the project is the rammed earth wall and counter, constructed using soil sourced from outside Istanbul and mixed with natural color pigments to harmonize with the overall interior palette. Complementing this, indoor and outdoor vertical gardens were designed with aromatic herbs, spices, and seasonal vegetables selected for the café menu, allowing partial food production on site. Additionally, composting decay boxes integrated into plant pots enable food waste to be transformed back into soil. As A30 Studio, we were responsible for both the design and the full construction process of the project.
