Red Line is a new meeting point of Southwest Milan. Area is located between center Milan and suburb Milan next to Naviglio Pavese. It is a filter of many things; people, places, districts, transportations. There are many intersection points and layers around the area which provides huge potentials. Also area has a security problem of gypsy people, they located inside the train line and they come out during the nights. There is a gap of connection between Via Tortona and San Cristofaro. There are Amsa recycle center, small settlemets of gypsies and abandoned green areas inside the area and many people pass during the days with different behaviors next to Naviglio.
Creating a new attraction point and req ua lifyi ng place for everyone is one of the main point of Red Line. Area is very historical place next to San Cristofaro so design is inspired by one of the main symbols of Milan which is Biscione. This snake connects two art district with red high passage element connected with many different experiences. There are main axes and intermediate axes of area. The project designed considering with context and recent functions of surrounding area. There is a public stage located middle of the area and surrounded by red element which has four metres high on that point and it can be used as a tribune for the stage. During the design week this place can be used as an exhibition place or open air performance center. Stage has 270 degrees eye view and also located next to artificial pool. It is 50 cm below from the ground and it has a whirlpool inside the pool which pulls all the water inside and created a sound barrier between stage and highway next to the area. It has a magnet effect for visual view. East part of red element has a concrete pavilion, it is one of the main elements of the project because during the rainy days people can watch rain and spending time inside of the pavilion, it is transparent structure and there is a hole on the roof and on the ground so rain water can reach from roof to the artificial pool inside the pavilion and this situation creates a water experiences for people inside the pavilion. Also there is another layer under the red element, followed same pedestrian path so during the rainy days people can spend time under the structure. Also old farm house renovated and used as a bar. 5 holes opened on the red element and there are five trees which pass inside
